Exclusive Services

The Library at MICA is known as the “Knowledge Exchange and Information Center” and is intended to be an invaluable learning space meant for education and research. Our state-of-the-art library is backed by excellent resources including books and journals and has access to some of the world’s renowned scholarly databases. KEIC has ample space for everyone and provides facilities for 24X7 reading area and discussion room. KEIC Team is always committed to providing you with uninterrupted information and reference services. The resources of the KEIC can be accessed in person, through websites, and also from the mobile application.

1 Circulation Service

This circulation service (issue, return, renewal, overdue) provides access to physical items including books, journals, and other resources. PG students can borrow up to 8 print resources, while FPM/faculty and staff members can borrow up to 13 print resources for 14 days, possibly extending the borrowing period if needed. The majority of the students prefer reading books in the library space as the majority of the students reside in the campus housing. There is no borrowing restrictions for the faculty members and staff.

2 Reference and Information Service

Reference staff assist users in locating and evaluating information sources for their research needs. This service aligns with the valuable information service objective by promoting information literacy and critical thinking skills among students and faculty, helping them to effectively identify and use credible sources in their academic and professional pursuits.

3 Bibliometric Service

Bibliometric analysis is a quantitative statistical method that can be useful for reviewing research impact by evaluating citations and bibliographical analysis of scholarly publications such as books, articles, and journals. The analysis includes a summary of top authors, sources, citations, keywords, affiliations, countries, collaborations, and funding agencies.

What We Do? The library’s Bibliometric Services provides publication analysis services to the MICA community. The program uses analytics to understand and evaluate the publications of any domain area. We provide customized tables, graphs, network maps, and lists of authors, topics, publication sources, or institutions, created using exports from SCOPUS and the Web of Science database.

4 Bibliography Service

This service provides a comprehensive list of published literature in the form of bibliographies in a selected domain or subject. It will help researchers to identify existing research and gaps by conducting comprehensive literature reviews. This service is very popular among dissertation and thesis students.

5 RESEARCH SUPPORT

This encompasses various forms of assistance provided to the students in conducting research, including access to specialized databases, research consultations, and training workshops. Every year, we conduct various training sessions on Publication Support (help one to identify where/ how to publish), Reference and Citation management tools such as Zotero, Mendeley, and EndNote.

6 Information Literacy Programmese

These programs aim to teach students essential skills for identifying, evaluating, and effectively using information resources. We conduct information literacy sessions very frequently, i.e., one at the beginning of the course, which is called a general library orientation, a database demonstration throughout the years, and a need-based session before the beginning of placement and dissertations. We ensure every users get their resources, and every resources get their readers.

7 Current Content & Update Services

This service delivers current table of content from the periodicals; the latest news, insights, reports, and report from popular media houses, such as Economic times, Ken, Euromonitor, EMIS etc., are provided through daily/weekly emails. By providing these services, we ensure our students and faculty are well-informed about current happening relevant to curriculum and research.

8 Scanning and Reprography Service

This service enables users to digitize and reproduce materials for academic and research needs. The library has two scanners, i.e., a flatbed scanner and a feeder scanner. Both the scanner applications are supported with the OCR output.

9 Inclusive Scanning Device “KIBO”

MICA students come from diverse backgrounds, with various vernacular languages spoken locally. To improve resource accessibility, the library has obtained scanning equipment capable of scanning, digitizing, translating, converting text to voice, and producing audio. This scanner can scan and translate text into many Indian and international languages, allowing visually challenged individuals to listen to the scanned content in their preferred language.

10 Placement Industry Updates

The purpose of this service is to keep students updated on the latest developments and trends in various industries and sectors. It is an essential tool for their job placement process. KEIC circulates curated news articles via email, circulates advertising campaigns via WhatsApp, and provides a complete Industry profile in the shared drive.

11 Journal Ranking

Journal ranking is a metric used to evaluate the impact and quality of academic journals. It helps researchers, academics, and institutions assess the influence of journals within their respective fields. Journals are ranked based on various factors, including citation analysis, impact factors, and other bibliometric indicators. Higher-ranked journals are generally considered more prestigious and influential.

12 Research Consultation Service

The Research Consultation Service at KEIC offers personalized, one-on-one assistance to help you navigate your research journey. Whether you're in the early stages of identifying a research problem or need guidance on data visualization and research planning, our expert librarians are here to support you every step of the way.

13 Inter-Library Loan Service

KEIC has institutional library collaboration through membership with various prestigious organizations i.e., IIM-A, IIT-Gn, DELNET and ADINET. One can visit such institutional libraries, borrow books, and access resources. We can also provide an inter-library loan facility by demanding books via delivery service.

14 Plagiarism Check Service

KEIC has institutional access to the Turnitin software package, through which we provide access and assistance on plagiarism detection and similarity check service.

15 Ask a Librarian Service

This service provides personalized assistance to users seeking help with any research, information retrieval, and library resources. By offering expert guidance and support, it enhances the effectiveness of teaching, learning, and research activities by ensuring an inclusive library environment where users can approach librarian at their convenience.
